Acupuncture is based on an ancient form of Chinese medicine. It involves the insertion of fine, sterile acupuncture needles into the skin at specific points on the body to achieve a therapeutic effect. Acupuncture is used to decrease inflammation, improve function, reduce pain, increase relaxation, and encourage the body’s natural healing process.
Acupuncture is used to treat both acute and chronic health issues including: injury and pain management, menstrual cycle and period support, pregnancy labour prep and induction, common pregnancy complaints, self care and relaxation, sleep issues and improving energy and facial rejuvenation.
Musculoskeletal conditions acupuncture is most commonly used for include but are not limited to:

Acupuncture is available by a number of our health care providers, including our Naturopathic Doctor, Chiropractor and some of our Physiotherapists. Dr. Margot ND offers acupuncture as a stand-alone treatment, which can be booked outside of her naturopathic services. Acupuncture done by some of our Physiotherapists and Chiropractor is done during their regularly scheduled treatment plans and appointments.
