Nurse practitioners (NP) are highly trained healthcare professionals that can independently diagnose, prescribe and treat a wide range of health concerns. Whether you're seeking routine preventive care, managing a chronic condition, or navigating an acute health challenge, our Primary Health Care NP is here to support you with expert guidance and personalized care planning to address your unique health needs.
Some of the services we provide include but are not limited to: general health check-ups, gynecological exams, prenatal and perineal care, well-baby visits, chronic disease management (diabetes, osteoporosis, hypertension, asthma), as well as diagnosis and treatment of various acute concerns such as rashes, pain, and infections.
Your mental and emotional health are equally important as your physical health. Our NP is skilled in addressing common mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, sleep issues, and addiction. Together, we will explore treatment options and coping strategies to help you achieve greater emotional balance and resilience.
Nurse Practitioners are not covered by OHIP. While referrals, requisitions and diagnostic testing prescribed are covered through OHIP, your scheduled appointment fee is not covered through government health funding. If you currently have a family physician, we suggest you note any restrictions from doctor's practice around seeing a practitioner outside of their practice.
